Goa tourism is synonymous with every kind of holidays ' be it adventure or water sports, sightseeing, cultural aspects, historical aspects or even relaxation. Goa beaches, the centre of attraction in this small state prove to be the best in the world. Out of numerous Goa tourist places, Anjuna beach serves as the freak capital of Goa. Anjuna is just the right place for memorable holidays.

Vibrant Aspects

Anjuna beach came into limelight with its energetic and colourful Trance Parties. The credit for introducing these parties goes to the Hippies who wonderfully synthesized the spiritual traditions of the east with the art, ideas and the music of the west.

Attractions

The majestic Albuquerque Mansion is a major attraction at the Anjuna beach. The mansion was built in 1920 and it serves as a renowned landmark at the beach. Moreover, it is flanked by octagonal towers and an attractive Mangalore tile-roof. Apart from that, the monumental Mascarenhas Mansion is also a nice place to visit.

The entire Anjuna beach comes alive every Wednesday with the renowned flea market. Various shops are loaded with Tibetan, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, European snacks, Goa Trance music cassettes & cds, artificial ornaments carvings and T-shirts etc. Tourists can also enjoy an elephant ride alongside the beach.

If you are a party animal and love to freak out during late hours at night, the beach offers full-moon (acid house) parties. These are specially meant for youngsters.

Lastly, the Chapora Fort is also located at a close proximity to the Anjuna beach and it also offers marvellous views of the Vagator beach. Despite of being an ancient fort, it still retains the age old glory of the Muslim, Portuguese and the Maratha rulers.

There are plenty of accommodation opportunities at the beach. You can book your comfortable stay at the cozy guest-houses around the village or at the star rated luxurious hotels.
